Your first session is an opportunity to slow down and begin making sense of what brings you here. We'll talk about what you've been experiencing, what feels most important to you, and what you hope might be different.
I'll ask questions to better understand your experiences, relationships, strengths, and goals. Together, we'll begin developing an understanding of what's happening beneath the surface and discuss an approach that feels thoughtful, collaborative, and tailored to your needs.
There is no expectation to have everything figured out before you arrive. We simply begin where you are.
There may also be space to explore some initial ideas or strategies that could help you feel more grounded as you move forward.

-
There is no set number of sessions. The length of therapy depends on your goals, the concerns you're bringing, and the pace that feels right for you.
Some people come for support around a specific challenge or life transition and find that a shorter course of therapy meets their needs. Others choose to work together for longer as they deepen their understanding, strengthen relationships, or work toward more lasting change.
We'll regularly check in about how therapy is going, what's feeling helpful, and whether your goals or needs have changed. The process is collaborative, and you'll never be expected to continue longer than feels right for you.
-

At the beginning of our work together, we'll review the limits of confidentiality—including the rare situations where information may need to be shared to protect your safety or the safety of others—so you'll know exactly what to expect and have the opportunity to ask any questions.
